Designing various Edison Carrier
Solutions (ECS) work orders as thesingle point of contact between the Edison
project managers and HermanWeissker employees. Designed and drew the cable
maps in AutoCAD (or supervising drafting tech) and position all slack loops
and splices according to planners requests. Manage all field workers to poles
needing pole loading and design underground routes. Construct route books and
include all proper paperwork from SAP, DM, Joint Pole sheets & SpidaCALC
info. Also do all pole loading calculations on SpidaCALC. Design encroachment
permit maps for State Highway, Railroad and Aqueduct crossings. Other duties
have included: nine years working in distribution planning on WCR, Technical
Planning DSP, Deteriorated Poles, CATV applications, IMS Work Orders, ECS
Carrier Solutions fiber optic work orders, PMH-4 replacement program, permit
applications & substation work. Design SCE Rule 20 projects & WCR
projects required new structures to ensure compliance to latest standards including
the newest structure standards. Knowledge and capability to analyze necessary
resources and provide cost estimates and options for the construction of
Overhead and Underground distribution facilities within the regulatory
requirements of SCE distribution system, as well as civil and electrical
principles. Responsible for resolving conflicts and providing successful
outcomes for the customer and employer on assigned or requested projects.
Coordinate activities with other internal personnel and/or organizations to
ensure compliance and appropriate follow-thru of policies, such as safety,
rules and completion dates applicable to assigned projects. Responsible for
managing multiple highly technical, time critical, and engineering sensitive
work orders simultaneously through the entire process with minimum
supervision while taking accountability for customer satisfaction. Oversee
the formal planning, tracking, and reporting of projects performances through
out the work order process. Communicating effectively orally and in writing
with clients, peers, contractors, and all levels of management. Knowledge of
wind loading and buckling standards for overhead poles, including pole taper
factors. Knowledge of underground structures from hand holes and vaults to
manholes and PME structures. Clearly understand and able to analyze Southern
California Edison's circuit maps, field inventory maps, civil designs and JPA
forms. Experience in underground civil designs and construction practices,
specifications and requirements per the ESR, UGS, DOH & DDS manuals,
along with G.O. 95 & G.O. 128 standards and equivelant pull calculations.
